The times they are a changin'...

Sorry everyone. I've been so busy growing up that I forgot to blog for a little while. Maybe it's been a little more than a little while, actually... ahh, who's keeping tab anyway?

Here's the week in pictures:

Mom and I went to work with dad last week. He works in New York. I took the train and the subway for the first time and harassed commuters, walked ( I mean strolled) around SoHo, chilled out at the office, and took a dump right by dad's desk (which, by the way, he has more crap on his desk than I'll ever have in my pants). It was a great day!

I went to the beach the other day, too. I told dad to wear sunscreen on his back, but he didn't listen...kids. Anyway, while mom, Reena, Nicole, and Jen were somewhere off on the not so distant shore, doggie paddlin' and singing some "caribbean queen" song, and dad and mike were attempting to surf ankle high waves, I was hanging with my girl, Ella. She loves me. She wrote it in the sand. "We're sharing the same dream. And our hearts, they beat as one." Wait...where'd I get that from?...

And we went over to Pop pop and Mimi's for Mimi's birthday. Everyone ate the pasta with broccoli except me. Broccoli gives me gas. I had fun. And my cousin Amaya was there. She's 4 months old. We made plans to get together and catch up in AC in 20 and a half years.

Also, my great Grandma Iurato was there. Now, I've nothing funny to say here... All I really want to say is...I LOVE YOU GREAT GRANDMA!

Ok, that's all for now. I promise I'll be better at staying on top of my blog. Somewhere in between the sweet potatoes and the army crawl...

Later,

5 Months In a Minute or Two

Some of you have been asking for videos. Well,  this isn't an oscar winning director's cut or anything, but dada slapped a little quickie together to hold you over ...

A Solid Plan

Well, strap me to a papasan and call me chowboy. This weekend I was introduced to "solids". Now, I would call it a lot of things -- but solid? Nah. Hardly solid if you ask me. But, guess what? I liked it, I'm not going to lie. Tastes like chicken (...right?)
I also went in a "pool" for the first time on Saturday...or at least that's what I was told. Look at the picture. Does that look like a pool? Can anyone "swim" in that? Hey I know -- let's invite the neighbors and have relay races. Come on, now. A pool. Really? I should've peed if I wanted to wet my bathing suit. My parents...they try.

Note: I will add that on Sunday, after a great chill session at Logan's house with Ava, Lillian, Logan, and Gunnison, I stopped over at grandma's. And it was there that I got in a REAL pool for the first time. It was only a quick late afternoon dip...but it was perfect and it got me thinking: If I keep eating that mushy rice stuff, I'll continue to grow. Then one day I'll be able to swim in grandma's pool or Pop-Pop's pool or grandma vegas' pool or the ocean, and I won't ever be subjected to the inflatable ankle-wetter sitting in my front yard again. That's a deal worth eating for.

Prom Night

My aunt Tiffany had her prom tonight, so I took a back seat in the rent's car to go and see her in her dress. I had to stare at her for quite a while, as you can see in the first pic, because she looked so perfect (not to mention I wanted to chew on her hair). Then I offered to chaperone, but she thought I might need a diaper change in the middle of the night and delay plans. I agreed that it probably wasn't a great idea, so I stayed back at Grandma's house and had a rub-a-dub (you know, that's the fancy word for "bath"...remember?)

So, I hope she's having fun tonight. You know, I can't even remember my prom...or wait, maybe that's because it's not for another 18 years. Oh man...

For the record

I love chicks. I finally met Ava today. Oh man, she's a hottie. And she's officially old enough to chill in a car seat...which means I knew I had to turn on the charm to impress. I brought her a flower. She never woke to see it. Actually, I think she heard about Lillian and was playing hard to get. I know how it is. But once she sees my thighs I'll be a star in her big brown or blue or green eyes...give it a little time.

This Just In

Good evening everyone. Tonight in the Hudstown news at 8:45 (I would do the news at 9, but I'm not gonna make it)...I went to meet Lillian yesterday on a bib date. Or at least I thought that's what it was. I wore my "Tastes Like Chicken" bib hoping to impress, hinting that I don't actually eat chicken, but I was quick to notice she left her bib off. Well, you have got to see the diapers on her....talk about having it all...great disposition, makes me laugh, she's focused, and she's a knockout. Like her mom. And her dad is, um, well...she's like her mom. Ok, moving on...
I stopped by Grandma's house on the way home...but this isn't about me right now. I would like to take a quick second to personally invite every single Baltimore Oriole in the north Jersey vicinity to stop by her backyard and enjoy a few peanuts or seeds or whatever. Consider it an open bar. Enjoy! She was very excited that one of you flew by earlier in the day. But please, peck responsibly. Don't fly if you've had too much from the feeder.
Pause: Have a look at my hunky leg moment...ok move on...
Lastly, look how much fun my mommy is having. I just let her have her fun and hang out for as long as I can without, you know, poopin' or spittin'. I just figure, "Ah, she's having a good time. Let her go."
That's it for today. Thanks for checkin' in...I'm out. Stay tuned for Family Guy.

Finding Lost City

Hey all, Hudson here. I took my first trip to "Lost City" in the Shawangunks today. I don't know why it's called Lost City... apparently everyone knows where it is. There was an impressive crew of boulderers up there today, including that guy behind me in the pic -- that's Carmine (or "lito" as my dad calls him). He's a cool dude. Here he's warming up and dipping his hands in his chalk bag. And that brings me to a good point: If I have a hand free, why would I put it in a bag of chalk when I can stick it in my mouth and chew? Hand in the mouth = pleasure time. But to each his own. Live and let spit, I say.
Lost city was fun, though. The hike was grueling...for my mom, my dad, and my aunt...Hahahaha! What are you kidding me? I got carried in like a king. I got to focus on gooing and gahing at the babbling brooks, rocks, trees and sky. I was fed lunch in the cool shade of a giant boulder, while I watched everyone around me climb. And I slept in the quiet of a mountain breeze (well, when the crew wasn't screaming bloody flapper like a bunch of luhoooozers on moderate boulder problems). I was hovering in the arms of my mommy, my aunt Nicole, and my auntie Summer for most of the day, taking it all in. In fact, my feet never even touched the ground. That's some serious control technique my friends. How many people do you know get that kind of royal treatment? None I bet. Like I said before... king.
What else? I talked a lot today. I'm really starting to find my voice and I'm not afraid to use it. You know, it's been a cool couple of weeks. I'm really learning a ton. I get curious about stuff and then I just go for it. Sort of like Marky Mark was doing today, searching for watermelon colored tape in Lost City ... but not really. He's probably still there looking. I, on the other hand, have been finding the things I look for. And it feels pretty darn good.
